Thinking Creatively Through Art
Students will be exposed to and inspired by the works of famous artists and the music from the artist’s era. Students will then have an opportunity to create their own creations using the basic principles of design and color.

7th grade Language Arts Enrichment Apps
Utilizing the iPads in the classroom with the iTooch app and Luminosity. iTooch is a highly engaging app that allows students to practice grammar skils and Luminosity works to enhance memory, attention and cognitive functions of the brain.

Dress for Success
The “Dress for Success” project will help to outfit the current and future members of the award-winning La Presa Jazz Ensemble with 30 black dress shirts and 15 white ties. During concerts students will be able to dress and look their best, so they can focus on performing.

Cougar Book Buddies
Cougar Book Buddies will be a fun, new literacy program in which students, grades 2nd through 6th, will be partnered with readers that share similar interests and reading abilities. These reading partners will meet on a daily basis at recess for four weeks after which new sets of pairs will be chosen for a new cycle.

La Mesa Arts Academy
Evening of the Arts: “Endless Skyway”
$750.00 and $500.00
LMAAC will take an Evening of the Arts program called “Endless Skyways” to the schools of the La Mesa Spring Valley School District. The program will involve student performances, live music, and a community art walk. This program can then be done on a yearly basis at the school sites.
